Marvel comic madness hits Melbourne

With the love of superhero flicks at an all-time high, Marvel comics has brought an exhibit 80 years in the making to Melbourne.

The Marvel: Journey of Heroes exhibit kicked off at Melbourne Central on July 5 and will run until September 29 and includes all the Marvel mainstays.

The exhibit features some of the most famous comic books from artists and writers across the decades.

Each one includes a plaque telling the story behind the cover.

With the critically acclaimed Spider-verse animated movie recently out on Blu-ray and the MCU film Spider-Man: Far From Home out now, Spider-Man himself made his presence known.

With the rise of female lead superhero films like Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman and the upcoming Black Widow, the ladettes of the Marvel universe have a chance to shine as well.

With eight superhero movies due for release by the end of 2019 and Avengers: Endgame becoming the second highest grossing movie of all time, this is a genre that is going nowhere for the foreseeable future.

While Melbourne Central is going for the comics, Melbourne’s iconic Chadstone Shopping centre is going full force into the Star Wars universe.

With a ton of activities, budding Jedi knights, rebel soldiers and droid builders alike can choose from like taking on Jedi masters in a lightsaber duel to piloting X-wings and even checking out the Lego building section.

Star Wars fans of all ages are likely to get their fill of the franchise before Rise Of Skywalker hits cinemas in December.
